'Ascendent Sanctuary' - Senior Group Capstone

Ascendent Sanctuary was my semester long senior gaming capstone project created along side 4 other classmates. I created the vector art and animations for this game including the characters, level tiles, planets, and some inventory. As well as the poster design, and video for our presentation.
It is a 2D, top-down, space exploration game where you will play as an alien astronaut, determined to explore the entire galaxy. Employ various sci-fi gadgets as you fare across solar systems, discovering new planets and lifeforms, and exchanging resources for new and enhanced technology.
In Ascendent Sanctuary, the player’s goal is to collect resources from planets of varying difficulty. The gameplay consists of an overworld with three planet levels. In the overworld, the player flies around space in a spaceship, and on planets, the player moves around the surface and collects resources as well as defeating enemies. Players can go to the store where they can sell collected resources for currency. Players can then use the collected currency to buy special upgrades to make their time collecting resources efficient and easier to access. The game makes it so the player will encounter enemies of varying difficulty and must avoid death to not lose currency from their wallets.

Level Design for 'The Paper Quest'
Year: Spring 2020
Created the level design using Unity for the Paper Quest. As well as the graphic for the game using Adobe Illustrator.
This game is a first-person adventure game, with your weapons being a sword and throwables. The sword being your main weapon to fight in hand-to-hand combat with other enemies. Move with the WASD keys to explore the world you’re in, and find items to help on your journey. Along your quest, you will encounter more allies willing to help you along the way, as long as you protect them. As you continue your treacherous journey, you will also encounter numerous foes that will challenge your skills as a knight. Once you have reached the orc’s base, you will be tested to your fullest for your determination and spirit to reclaim the paper of Hargarva and save your kingdom and possibly the world.
